What IS a Caucus-race? said Alice; not that she wanted much to know, but the Dodo had paused as if it thought that SOMEBODY ought to speak, and no one else seemed inclined to say anything.
Why, said the Dodo, the best way to explain it is to do it. (And, as you might like to try the thing yourself, some winter day, I will tell you how the Dodo managed it.)”

After swimming around in Alice's pool of tears, the animals need to dry off, and The Dodo recommends a caucus race. There are no rules; all of the participants run haphazardly around in no particular direction, and everyone wins.

A Caucus Race consists of everyone running in a circle with no clear winner.

In Alice's Adventure's In Wonderland[]

The sea of tears becomes crowded with other animals and birds that have been swept away by the rising waters. Alice and the others convene on the bank and the question among them is how to get dry again. The Mouse gives a very dry lecture on William the Conqueror. A Dodo dcides that it would be best to dry them off in a Caucus Race.

  • In the Disney animated film, a song is made to inspire the caucus race and is sung by the Dodo and other animals.
  • This version is the Musical Version

Chorus
