After swimming around in Alice's pool of tears, the animals need to dry off, and The Dodo recommends a caucus race. There are no rules; all of the participants run haphazardly around in no particular direction, and everyone wins.
A Caucus Race consists of everyone running in a circle with no clear winner.

Alice and the others convene on the bank and the question among them is how to get dry again. The Mouse gives a very dry lecture on William the Conqueror. A Dodo dcides that it would be best to dry them off in a Caucus Race.
